Million Dollar Drag Race to Move to World Wide Technology Raceway in 2023

There will be a million exciting reasons to head to the Midwest next season as World Tech Speedway in Madison, Illinois will be the 28th annual Mickey Thompson Million Dollar Drag Race September 12-16, 2023 The new venue for the race.

Folk Promotions considered countless tracks to find a hosting facility that would not only continue its longstanding tradition, but elevate the racing experience to the highest standards.

Co-promoter Jennifer Folk explained: “Leaving the South was not an easy decision and we are very grateful to all the racers, sponsors, staff and local support who have contributed to Million’s success, but we are very excited about our St. Future Louis. This decision was not made lightly, but World Wide Technology Raceway really ticked all the boxes for us. It is a beautiful, state-of-the-art facility with full asphalt parking, a fiber optic CompuLink timing system, and hardworking staff. Event dates average highs of 80 degrees and lows of around 60 degrees, providing the perfect weather for the race.”

“One of our goals at World Wide Technology Raceway is to consistently host major events that attract broad racing interest,” said WWTR Executive Vice President and General Manager Chris Blair. “We are the only track on earth that hosts the NASCAR Cup Series, NTT INDYCAR Series, NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series and Formula DRIFT. Last year we hosted the largest NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series of the season, We want to have a big bracket racing event to showcase our schedule for 2023. When it comes to promotional partners and big money races, there is only a million dollar drag race.
