The International Defence Exhibition and Symposium (IDEAS) will be launching its 11th edition at the Karachi Expo Centre from 15 to 18 November.
The four-day South Asia Leading event is organised annually by Defence Export Promotion. However, the exhibition took place after a four-year delay.
Since its establishment in 2000, IDEAS, a platform for promoting cooperation and information exchange in the defense sector, has become an important activity for manufacturers of defense products, entrepreneurs, researchers, development and financial experts, as well as major policy makers.
This year, the exhibition will focus on technology exchange and promotion, which will play an important role in strengthening the strategic ties between Pakistan and the international community, and will also help to achieve the common goal of global peace, stability and balance.
The last exhibition was held in 2018. A total of 524 pavilions from 45 countries participated, and more than 262 high-level delegations attended the exhibition.

China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Jordan, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, the United States and host Pakistan have been part of the event, with their respective pavilions at Karachi Expo center.
Apart from international participation, pavilions will also be set up by the Pakistan Army, the Armed Forces Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine, the National Logistics Team, the Anti-Narcotics Force, the Border Work Organization, the Counter-Improved Explosive Device Organization and the Military Training Authority.
In addition, the event will showcase key defense products such as Khalid tanks, JF-17, jet trainer K-8 and drones to increase Pakistan’s defense exports.
IDEAS provides an in-depth picture of Pakistan’s defense training capabilities before the world, while also paving the way for various investment opportunities in the country.
