Greensboro, North Carolina –(Business Wire)–Guerrilla RF, Inc. (OTCQX: GUER) announced that it is now GRF6403, the second in a new series of 0.25dB step DSAs (Digital Step Attenuators) the company is developing. The devices utilize a state-of-the-art SOI (silicon-on-insulator) process, which is now used in many of the company’s new signal chain products.
“The GRF6403 represents the next stage in the company’s foray into products to complement our leading portfolio of amplifier cores,” said Ryan Pratt, CEO and founder of Guerrilla RF. “This latest DSA utilizes the same key technologies as its sister part. ,Right now GRF6402. By adding parallel interfaces to the DSA core, we can quickly expand to another segment of the infrastructure market. The fact that the GRF6403 is directly compatible with several competing products bodes well for the device’s ability to quickly bring sales to the company.Fiction We Expect DSA raging fire™ functionality will make this part a convincing choice in its competitive class. ”
As a 7-bit, 31.75dB range device, the GRF6403 supports three unique programming modes including serial, direct parallel and latched parallel. The GRF6403 also includes a unique Rapid Fire™ This mode allows the device to immediately switch to a second-level predefined decay state, avoiding the delays associated with typical SPI programming transactions. This feature is the driving force behind switching TDD applications quickly because single DSA is now available in TX and RX modes. This Rapid Fire™ This feature also enables a “fast attack” signal chain protection scheme where additional attenuation must be switched as quickly as possible.
In terms of performance, the GRF6403 can cover the entire 50 MHz to 6 GHz range while maintaining precise and monotonic gain steps. The glitch has been reduced to < 2 dB for all steps. The device offers up to 30 dBm or IP0.1dB, 60 dBm or IIP3 and a low IL of 1.3 dB at 2 GHz.
The GRF6403 is available in a 4mm x 4mm, 24-pin QFN package and follows a de facto standard footprint with many competitive alternatives. Samples and evaluation boards are available now. Click here for more details.
