GSA Forms Technology Services Legal Department – ​​MeriTalk

The US General Services Administration (GSA) has created a new legal department within its Office of the General Counsel to expand GSA’s technology offerings.

The GSA said in a statement on Nov. 11 that the new office — dubbed the Technology Legal Department — will “provide dedicated and specialized legal services to the technology-focused components of the GSA.” 10 press releases.

New legal department will help support GSA’s ongoing efforts to build a simple, lean and secure digital infrastructure and deliver superior customer service—from incentivizing a more agile approach to IT modernization to building effective government-wide digital solutions and services.

The Technology Law Division is currently recruiting for key positions: Deputy General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel, Technology Law.

The Associate General Counsel for Technology Law will lead a growing team providing client-focused legal support to the technology-focused components of the GSA. Applicants must have a proven track record as a leader in technology law.

The Assistant General Counsel will be responsible for providing client-focused legal support to the technology-focused components of the GSA. GSA encourages applications from attorneys of all backgrounds, but emphasizes that applicants must have an interest in learning and using new technologies and areas of law.

“The Deputy General Counsel for Technology Law will work closely with top leaders across the agency to provide advice and counsel in the developing but critical area of ​​public law.
