DoST chief showcases local technology and innovation at NSTW 2022

With less than a week to go, Secretary of State Renato Solidum Jr.’s Department of Science and Technology (DoST) provided a fascinating preview of what the public can expect from the 2022 National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) celebrations.

Scheduled for November 23-27, 2022 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City under the theme “Agham of Teknolohiya: Kabalikat sa Maunlad of Matatag na Kinabukasan”,

Solidum shared that this year’s NSTW celebration will highlight efforts and innovative solutions from the local scientific community led by DoST, its affiliates and regions.

Solidum said in an interview on CNN Philippines’ “The Final World” hosted by Rico Hizon that NSTW 2022 will be filled with exciting technology exhibits and relevant and interesting scientific forums, webinars and careers related to energy, transportation solutions Lectures and logistics, agriculture and food security, health, job creation, blue and green economy, environment and sustainability, education and international connections.

The 2022 NSTW will also focus on R&D projects and services related to agriculture, food safety, health, environment, water, blue economy and job creation, he added.

“The focus of DoST is besides creating wealth, we also need to protect the wealth that we create. So we also have wealth protection programs related to DoST-Pagasa and DoST-Phivolcs. Then we also need to ensure that human resources will pass through STEM (Science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education is supported,” he said.
