Christmas in Camden starts with Small Business Saturday

The City of Camden is celebrating its 2022 Christmas season “Believe in the magic of Christmas in Camden” Whether it’s walking through the Christmas displays, browsing the city’s festive decorations or attending the many events, Camden has something for everyone this festive season thing.

As well as shopping and great restaurants, there’s so much to see and do in Camden this Christmas in our biggest celebration yet! Enjoy the many Christmas displays and photoshoots around town, have your letters delivered to Santa’s special mailbox, ride the Christmas Train through downtown, see stunning entries in the Gingerbread House Contest and more!

Saturday, November 26th, is a great day for Small Business Shopping in Camden, a national special event and recognition for small businesses.

The first week of December has a host of exciting events. Beginning Thursday night, join the Christmas Carols for Hospice patients on December 1st. Everyone is invited at St. Carol singing at 5pm at John’s Episcopal Church, 117 Harrison Ave NW. This wonderful evening is sponsored by OCMC Hospice.

If you don’t have a bucket big enough to carry the tune, head to Camden Country Club on December 1st for the “Hub’s Hollyday House” Christmas Market Fundraiser. There will be food and vendors, so come and find the perfect gift for your loved one that you can only find here.

Don’t miss the annual fun and celebration at the Ouachita County Courthouse on Friday, December 2nd at 5:30pm. The new and traditional decorations of the courthouse will please all. Enjoy live music, let the kids visit with Santa, and take photos with the fabulous holiday decorations.

After the courthouse lights, stroll over to the Farmer’s Bank parking lot at 7pm for a flashlight candy cane hunt, a local favorite. This is a free event for children 10 and under. Kids will have a great time finding more than 700 candy canes hidden around downtown. Candy canes of special colors will be hidden to win big prizes. The event is sponsored by Camden Police Department.

Take the Christmas Train ride through the center of Camden, free at night. The train is large enough for adults and children to ride, and it is suitable for the whole family to play together. The ride will take you through Camden city center in full effect with special new city center decorations, courthouse decorations and Nell Jane Dawson Park with a spectacular 18 inch LED Musical Christmas Tree.

Take a free ride on the Christmas Train on Friday to see the lights, walk through historic neighborhoods, and visit historic homes dressed up for Christmas. Saturdays will be the only tours (no trains).

Tinsel & Tails + Paint Your Pet, a special fundraiser benefiting the H & P Animal Alliance, will be held at the Native Dog Brewery (125 Madison Ave SE) on Saturday, December 3rd. Bring your 4-legged friend for special Christmas photos of you and shop the unique pet items on display, followed by the Paint Your Pet Party.

St. Nicholas’ Night – December 4th

Everyone is invited! Join the St. Louis Catholic Church and the Free Church as we discuss St. Louis. Nicholas and his role in maintaining the full divinity of Christ. It will be a night of prayer, reflection, carols and fellowship. The event is free and will be held at 202 N. Adams Ave.

Santa’s mailbox will be located at Nelle Jane Dawson Park (Washington & Adams).

New addition to the Christmas Display at the Court House.

Santa’s Workshop at Garden Oaks Mall is back! ! Open every Saturday from Thanksgiving weekend through Christmas, 12pm (noon) to 5pm. Let the kids visit Santa for a magical experience. Photo packages are available for purchase, and all funds will benefit the Women’s Crisis Center of South Arkansas.
